From Hive to Product: Why It Matters

From Hive to Product: Why It Matters

Our beeswax comes from wax cappings - what’s left over after Idaho beekeepers harvest honey. Carefully filtered. Minimally processed. Oftentimes, harsh refining processes destroy or remove nature’s finest elements. Not here.

At Salt City Soapworks, we could buy cheaper, highly processed beeswax from large suppliers. We don’t. We choose to pay a little more time, energy, and money to:
• support another local business
• get to know the families doing the hard work
• understand the operational details
• support like-minded efforts that care for our ecosystem and responsibly farm from the land

We pride ourselves on running Salt City Soapworks with a cradle-to-grave mindset, taking the careful steps and time necessary to build a business that not only prioritizes sourcing high-quality ingredients, but also considers what goes down the drain and ends up in the trash after use.

And our customers notice.

We hear it all the time: Our salt soaps, beeswax body balms, and lip balms feel different. Better. More nourishing. Longer lasting.

That difference starts at the source.
