Our Philosophy

Geology taught founder Lauren Tyson that nature has had millions of years to get it right. Our job is simply not to get in the way.

Salt City Soapworks was built on that belief. Every ingredient earns its place. Every decision is measured not only by what it gives your skin, but by what it leaves behind after the final rinse.

We don't chase perfection. We keep asking better questions. The result? Nature-infused skincare that's as thoughtful about your skin as it is about the planet.

Ingredients

Every product we make begins with two signature ingredients: unrefined Redmond salt and minimally processed beeswax. Whenever possible, we believe in seeing our ingredients at their source and meeting the people behind them.

One hundred thirty miles south of our workshop, Redmond salt rests beneath layers of Utah earth. As a geologist, founder Lauren walked the mine to better understand the ancient deposit and the people who bring it to the surface.

One hundred twenty miles to the north, trusted Idaho beekeepers care for the hives that supply more than 90% of our beeswax. Knowing where the bees forage, how the hives are managed, and how the wax is rendered gives us confidence in every ingredient we choose.

That care doesn't end at the mine or the hive. It continues in every batch we make, preserving the purity, trace minerals, and natural nourishment our ingredients are known for.

Eco-Friendly Packaging

Packaging should protect the product, not compete with it.

Our signature salt soaps are stamped directly with their name and key ingredients, leaving traditional labels behind. We built custom stainless steel filling trays so our lip balms and body balms could be poured straight into cardboard tubes, creating a plastic-free option from the moment they're made.

Even our shipping boxes are chosen with intention. Gift sets are packed to fit, not filled, using only what they need to arrive safely.

Better ideas don't stand still, and neither do we. We'll keep refining our packaging the same way we refine our formulations—one thoughtful decision at a time.

Transparency

We believe trust is earned.

Every ingredient we use is listed in each website product description and on the Ingredients List page. Where packaging allows, ingredients are listed there as well.

Look closely and you'll recognize most of the names. Salt. Beeswax. Olive oil. Coconut oil. Coffee. Chocolate. Clay. That isn't by accident. We believe remarkable skincare begins with ingredients people have trusted for generations.

If you ever have a question, send us a message through our Contact Us page.

We believe good conversations make better products.

Thank You

Your support reaches far beyond our workshop.

It reaches the miners in Redmond, the beekeepers in Idaho, the fields where pollinators gather, and the craftsmen and small businesses whose work makes ours possible.

We don't believe stewardship is finished. Like nature itself, it's always evolving. We'll keep asking better questions, making better choices, and moving forward one mindful step at a time.

Every bar of soap carries a little Utah salt. Every balm, a little Idaho beeswax. Both carry the work of many hands, and now, a place in yours.
